ORDER

Seeking to transfer the investigation in Crime No.391 of 2024 from the file of the 2nd respondent to the file of the some other efficient agency, this criminal original petition is filed. 2.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is a defacto complainant at whose instance the first information report in Crime No.391 of 2024 was registered by the second respondent police for the offences under sections 406 and 420 of IPC on 01.10.2024 as against one Vanitha Angelin and Rajesh Kumar. However, in the said cheating case, there is no progress in the investigation. Hence, this petition.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) submitted that the petitioner and the accused are neighbours from whom the accused had obtained 7 1⁄2 sovereign of gold jewels. Having vacated the house from 2/5

where they were dwelling, they never turned up to return the 7 1⁄2 sovereign of gold jewels received from the petitioner. In this regard, a complaint was received; the police had required the petitioner to appear only for inquiry.

4. Heard the learned counsel on either side and carefully perused the materials available on record.

In view of the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (crl.side), the second respondent is directed to conclude the investigation in Crime No.391 of 2024 within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The first respondent police is directed to monitor the ongoing investigation which is undertaken by the second respondent. The second respondent police is also directed to appraise the progress of the investigation every Friday to the first respondent.
