ORDER

Heard both sides.

2.The petitioner is a Jamath President. He is a resident of Ilayangudi Village. His grievance is that Survey No.188/1 which is a water body, is being used as a dumping yard. To forbear the respondents from doing so, this writ petition has been filed.

3.When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader on instructions states that no garbage is being dumped into the water body and that a nearby place is being used as a dumping yard. 4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner draws our attention to Schedule I of Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016 in which it has been mentioned that there should not be any landfill or dumping yard within 200 meters from a water body.

5.We direct the respondents to adhere to the said distance Rule while choosing the alternative dumping site.

6.This Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. [G.R.S., J.] [B.P., J.] 26.02.2026 NCC : Yes / No Internet : Yes / No Index : Yes / No MGA 3/5
