PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to transfer the petitioner's son, P.Selvakumar (NCT 20727) death sentence convict, from Central Prison, Coimbatore to Central Prison, Madurai, based on her representation dated 10.03.2018. O R D E R

According to the petitioner, the petitioner made a representation on 10.03.2018 to the respondents to transfer the petitioner's son, P.Selvakumar (NCT 20727) death sentence convict, from Central Prison, Coimbatore to Central Prison, Madurai. Since no order has been passed by the respondents, the petitioner filed this petition with the aforesaid prayer.

2. The learned Government Advocate would submit that the said representation is pending before the first respondent and the same shall be considered on merits and in accordance with law.

3. In the light of the above submission, this Court, without expressing any opinion, directs the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 10.03.2018, on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner is directed to enclose one more copy of the representation to the first respondent along with this order copy.

4. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
