ORDER
The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner had filed this Writ Petition seeking direction against the Respondents to grant the permission and protection for conducting Adal Padal program scheduled to be held on 09.03.2024 at 6.00 pm to 11.00 pm in connection with the Thiruvizha of Arulmigu Moonusamy Kovil Perumal Kovil, Poosalapuram Village, Peraiyur Taluk, Madurai District.
2.It is his submission that the representation of the petitioner dated 04.03.2024 was refused on the ground that there is likelihood of law and order issue. He would further submit that the petitioner is ready to give an undertaking that no law and order issue will arise regarding the conduct of festival. 2/5
3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side), on instructions of the second respondent, would submit that there are two groups regarding ensuing elections. If the petitioner is ready to give an undertaking, the respondent will get similar undertaking from the rival group and also pass appropriate orders in the light of the circular of the Director General of Police, Head of State Police Force, Tamil Nadu, Chennai-4, issued in Rc.007301/Genl.I(1)/2019, dated 09.04.2019. 4.Considering the rival group due to ensuing elections, the respondents are directed to get an undertaking from the petitioner and the rival parties and to grant the permission in the light of the said circular insisting conditions. The Organizer of the temple festival shall pay necessary charges for deployment of the police personnel for protection.
With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. 07.03.2024 Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes / No mm 3/5
