The petitioner has come forward with this Writ Petition seeking a Writ of Mandamus directing 2nd respondent to grant permission to conduct cricket tournament in "Muthalaikulam Maidhanam" near Tisayanvilai Police Station, Tisayanvilai for six days and to provide protection from 01/05/2018 to 06/05/2018 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 12/04/2018.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
3. According to the petitioner, the petitioner made a representation to the first respondent on 12.04.2018 to grant police protection to conduct cricket tournament in the above said place. Since no order has been passed, the present writ petition has been filed.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner has sent a representation dated 12.04.2018 by RPAD and the same was received by the first and second respondents.
5. In view of the limited prayer sought for in this writ petition and by considering the submissions made by the parties concerned, this Court, without going into merits, directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 12.04.2018, and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, on or before 29.04.2018.
6. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
