Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to provide permission to conduct Sri Valli Thirumanam Drama on 26.03.2021 and 27.03.2021 at Vannavalkudi Senthakudi Village, Alangudi Taluk, Pudukottai District subject to the conditions laid down by the first Respondent proceeding dated 20 March 2021 based on the representation made by the petitioner on 16.03.2021 and 20.03.2021.

By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.

2. Mr.A.Robinson, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

3. Mr.L.Rajiah, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that Sri Valli Thirumanam Drama is scheduled to be held on 26.03.2021 and 27.03.2021 at Vannavalkudi Senthakudi Village, Alangudi Taluk, Pudukottai District. His further contention is that he submitted a representation dated 16.03.2021 to the first respondent seeking permission to conduct the said Drama, which was rejected and therefore, the petitioner submitted another representation dated 20.03.2021 to the first respondent, in this regard.

4. In the circumstances, the District Collector, Pudukottai 1/2

WP(MD)No.6667 of 2021 District is at liberty to pass appropriate orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 20.03.2021, based on merits and on findings and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order / uploading of the order.

5. With the above observation, this petition is disposed of. No costs.
