Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 2 to 25 herein to select and appoint the petitioners herein for the post of Sub Staff in the respondents 5 to 25 Indian Bank Branches based on the petitioners' respective applications within a stipulated time fixed by this Court.

ORDER

By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. This Court does not pass or give any positive direction in favour of the petitioners, hence notice to the respondents is dispensed with.

2. The case of the petitioners is that the petitioners possess sufficient qualification for the post of Sub Staff in the concerned Indian Bank Branches but they are not appointed for the above said post.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners have already filed W.P.(MD).Nos.19241 to 19271 of 2017 and W.P.(MD).No.12395 of 2018 and 12399 of 2018 and W.P.(MD).No.1473 of 2019 before this Court and this Court, by orders dated 08.03.2019 and 23.04.2019, passed the following order:- "4.In view of the submission made by the learned counsel appearing on either side, these Writ petitions stand disposed of, granting liberty to the petitioners to file their respective representations to the respondents within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and on filing of such representations, the same shall be dealt with on merits and in accordance with law and necessary orders be passed, after affording opportunity of hearing to the petitioners, within a period of six weeks thereafter, by the third respondent. No costs."

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners would further submit that after passing of the above said order, the petitioners made individual applications to the Institute of Banking Personal Selection. But on 08.05.2019, the Institute of Banking Personal Selection rejected the applications made by the petitioners by stating that they are only Test Conducting Agency and directed the petitioners to approach the concerned Bank Branches. Thereafter, the petitioners made representations to the concerned Bank Branches but no action has been taken by the respondents till date. Hence, the Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioners to direct the respondents 2 to 25 herein to select and appoint the petitioners for the post of Sub Staff in the concerned Bank Branches.

5. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioners' applications would be considered within the time stipulated by this Court.

6. Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for by the petitioners in this writ petition, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the fourth respondent to consider the petitioners' respective applications on merits and in 4/7

accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
