ORDER

This writ petition is filed for a Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant permission to conduct Rekla Race and Horse Race to be held on 17.03.2024 from Chinna Therku Kaadu Shree Muthumariamman Kovil Bus Stop to Munikovil Palam, Pattukottai Taluk, Thanjavur District, between 6.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. based on the petitioner's representation dated 09.02.2024. 2/6

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the villagers of Chinna Therku Kaadu celebrated the "Masi Magam" festival every year in the month of Masi and also conducted Rekla Race and Horse Race during the celebration. For this year also, they have proposed to conduct Rekla Race and Horse Race to be held on 17.03.2024 from Chinna Therku Kaadu Shree Muthumariamman Kovil Bus Stop to Munikovil Palam, Pattukottai Taluk, Thanjavur District, between 6.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. In this regard, the petitioner has submitted a representation dated 09.02.2024 to the respondents seeking permission to conduct Rekla Race and Horse Race.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner further submits that in a similar case, this Court, in W.P.(MD)No.5362 of 2024, on 07.302.2024, while disposing of the writ petition, has directed the respondents therein to grant permission, if satisfied with the arrangements as per the orders of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in Transfer Petition (C) No.68 of 2013. Therefore, he prays that this 3/6

writ petition may be disposed of on the above terms.

4. Mrs.D.Farjana Ghoushia, learned Special Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents 1, 3 and 4 and she has no objection for passing similar order.

5. Mr.M.Vaikkam Karunanidhi, learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) takes notice for the respondents 2 and 5 and submits that the jurisdictional Police Station is Thiruchitrambalam Police Station, Pattukottai, Thanjavur District. He has also no objection for passing similar order.

In a similar case, this Court, in W.P.(MD)No.5362 of 2024, on 07.302.2024, by considering the fact that the petitioner is ready to conduct the Rekla Race by fulfilling the conditions as per the orders of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in Transfer Petition (C) No.68 of 2013, has disposed of the writ petition in the following terms: "9. ....... The respondent Police shall pass orders 4/6

on his application within a period of two days after satisfying with the arrangements of the petitioner as required and as per the orders of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in Transfer Petition (C) No.68 of 2013."

7. Following the same, this writ petition is disposed of on the above terms. No costs.
