By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.

Mr.K.Navaneetharaja, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that Panguni Uthiram Festival is scheduled to be held on 28.03.2021 in Sri Ariyanachi Temple and Sri Malaiyandi Temple at Puludhipatti Village, Sivagangai District. His further contention is that he submitted representations dated 18.03.2021 and 22.03.2021 to the first respondent and representation dated 20.03.2021 to the respondents 2 to 4 seeking permission to conduct the said Festival, and till date, no action has been taken by the respondents.
3. Mr.S.Chandra Sekar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor who accepts notice for the respondents, on instructions, would contend that as per G.O.(Ms) No.654 (Revenue and Disaster Management https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2
WP(MD)No.6652 of 2021 (DM-IV) Department) dated 21.11.2020, the District Collector is the competent authority to consider the request of the petitioner.
4. In the circumstances, the District Collector, Sivagangai District is at liberty to pass appropriate orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 22.03.2021, based on merits and on findings and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order / uploading of the order.
5. With the above observation, this petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
