Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the first respondent to extent the quarry operation on the basis of the petitioner's representation on 16.03.2021.

ORDER

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2.The petitioner is a lease holder. Lease agreement was entered into with the petitioner on 03.03.2016. It expired on 02.02.2021.

3.The petitioner's case is that on account of COVID-19 pandemic, he could not operate the quarry. On this ground, he seeks extension of the lease period. In this regard, he gave a representation on 16.03.2021.

4.The first respondent is the authority competent to consider the said request. I, therefore, direct the first respondent to pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 16.03.2021 on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. W.P.(MD)No.6677 of 2021 respondent to pass orders one way or other. The Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
