O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to issue direction to complete the investigation in Crime No.707 of 2017 and to file final report within the time stipulate by this court.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

3.The learned Counsel for the petitioner stated that the petitioner, who is the accused in Crime No.707 of 2017 which was registered on the basis of the complaint lodged by the De-facto complainant for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 168, 406, 420 and 506(ii) IPC.

4.Since a false case has been registered against the petitioner, it is submitted by the petitioner that the respondent police have not co-operated for the investigation, despite the petitioner voluntarily offered all documentary evidence to establish that the case is false.

5.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, submitted that the final report is likely to be filed within four months and that some time may be given.

6.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this court is inclined to issue the following direction: 6.1.The respondent is directed to complete the investigation in crime no.707 of 2017 and to file a final report within the period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7.In view of the above directions, the Criminal Original Petition is allowed.
