ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents 1 to 5 to initiate appropriate enquiry against the 7th respondent and four other identifiable police officials working in Usilampatti Police Station (Crime), Madurai District and conclude the said enquiry within a stipulated time that may be fixed by this Court by considering the petitioner's representations dated 13.01.2022 and 21.01.2022. 2/5
2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondents. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the 7th respondent, without any authority and without any warrant entered into the petitioner's village and taken the petitioner and his father along with them to their custody and subsequently, they have released them. It is further submitted that the 7th respondent and others demanded a sum of Rs.10 lakhs from the petitioner, failing which, they threatened that a case would be registered against the petitioner and his family. Hence, he made a representation to the respondents 1 to 5. Since the same has not been considered so far, he is before this court with this writ petition.

Without going into the merits of the case, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the 4th respondent respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 13.01.2022 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after giving 3/5
opportunity to both sides and the aggrieved parties, if any. The petitioner is directed to produce a copy of the representation along with a copy of this order enabling the 4th respondent to pass orders. 31.01.2024 RR TO
