ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus to direct the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 12.11.2025 for issuance of passport.

2.According to the learned Government Advocate for the 2nd respondent, the writ petitioner was implicated in a criminal case in Crime No.168/2018 on the file of the 3rd respondent police station and at the time of filing of charge sheet, name of the petitioner has been deleted.

3. The petitioner has been implicated in three other criminal cases in Crime Nos.12/2019, 137/2020 and 123/2024 on the file of the 2nd respondent police station and in all these three cases, charge sheet has not been laid so far.

4. The petitioner is implicated in another criminal case in Crime No.198/2025 on the file of the 3rd respondent police station, which is under investigation and charge sheet has not been laid. 2/4

5. Considering the aforesaid facts, there is no legal impediment for the 1st respondent to consider the request of the petitioner for issuance of passport and orders shall be passed by the 1st respondent within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
