ORDER : The Court Made the following order :- The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent Police for 1/4

the alleged offence under Sections 406 and 420 of IPC in Crime No.700 of 2021, seeks anticipatory bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that the first accused, who is the Special Sub Inspector of Police, took cars for rent from the defacto complainant for the purpose of distribution of marriage invitation of the family of the Deputy Superintendent of Police and thereafter, he did not return back the same to the defacto complainant. Thereby, the defacto complainant made a complaint against the accused persons before the respondent Police and the same was registered in Crime No.700 of 2021 against the accused persons.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that that the petitioner has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution and he has been falsely implicated in this case. This petitioner was acted only as a mediator between the A1 and the defacto complainant. Except that, there is no allegation made against the petitioner. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail. 4.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that in Crl.O.P(MD) No.16660 of 2022, which was filed by the defacto complainant seeking transfer of 2/4

investigation in Crime No.700 of 2021, this Court, vide order dated 21.03.2024, issued a direction to the investigation officer to complete the investigation within a period of twelve weeks therefrom and the concerned DSP is directed to monitor the said investigation.
