ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 10.02.2026 and to grant Patta in respect of Survey No.433/4B, measuring an extent of 3052 sq.ft. located at Periyakulam Village, Keelamunthal, Kadaladi Taluk, Ramanathapuram District and consequently, direct the respondents to conduct survey of the above said land based on the petitioner's application dated 07.02.2026, within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the lawful owner of the subject property and is in possession and enjoyment thereof. Seeking to obtain patta, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 10.02.2026. With a view to properly identifying the boundaries and avoiding future disputes, the petitioner also submitted an application dated 07.02.2026 before the competent revenue authorities. Despite receipt of the same, the

respondents have failed to take any action within a reasonable time. Hence, the petitioner has been constrained to approach this Court by filing the present Writ Petition seeking the relief stated supra.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's representation and the application will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed on merits and in accordance with law within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

5. Recording the above submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 10.02.2026 and the application dated 07.02.2026, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law after providing reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other persons, who may be affected by such decision, within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
