The petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the first respondent to dispose of the pending proceedings dated 06.05.2024. 1/5

2.Heard the learned Counsel for the petitioner and mr.S.Kameswaran, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents and also perused the available records. 3.Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for in the present writ petition, with the consent of the Counsel on either side, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal. The petitioner initially made an application to the second respondent on 10.08.2023, for transfer of patta. The second respondent forwarded the application to the Tahsildar, Thiruvadanai, on 10.11.2023, with a direction to the Tahsildar to conduct enquiry and to submit a report. On enquiry, the Tahsildar also submitted his report to the second respondent on 16.03.2024.

The second respondent noticing that the matter pertains to UDR correction, forwarded the petitioner's application to the first respondent in and by communication dated 06.05.2024. The grievance of the petitioner is that despite the petitioner giving an application as early as in August 2023, there has been no substantial progress and hence, he has filed the present Writ Petition.

4.Considering that the petitioner's application is now under consideration by the first respondent, the competent authority and 2/5

the same is pending from May 2024 onwards, on the file of the first respondent, the Writ Petition is disposed of, with a direction to the first respondent to pass final orders on the petitioner's application on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four [4] weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after issuing notice to any other interested parties and after hearing them. There shall be no order as to costs.
