ORDER

This petition is filed seeking permission of the police to hold demonstration as the petitioner was not satisfied with the investigation of the case in Crime No.33 of 2019 registered for certain offences under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

2. Prima facie this Court is not satisfied with the object behind the proposed demonstration. While this Court is aware that the petitioner has fundamental right to free speech and expression and right to conduct demonstration, the cause and the method now proposed to be adopted by the petitioner implies that they are keen to interfere with the statutory agency performing the statutory duty of investigating the offence and apply indirect pressure on the same.

3. If at all the petitioner has any grievance that the investigation is not on the right track, there are other legal means to achieve the issue without going to the roads with demonstration. The tool of demonstration must be used for holier purposes and this Court may not be able to appreciate why the petitioner should reject the judicial system of the country as incapable of granting the remedy that he may be interested in. Hence, this writ petition is dismissed. However, the petitioner is at liberty to work out the course of remedy as per law for the object that he intends.
