Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to consider and dispose the petitioner's representation, dated 17.08.2018 for notional upgradation as Head Constable with effect from 25.10.2008 and subsequent promotion on par with the petitioner's junior on the strength of fulfilling the eligibility criteria of clean record of service maintained by the petitioner on the date of upgradation within the period that may be stipulated by this Court.

ORDER
Seeking for a direction to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 17.08.2018 for notional upgradation and subsequent promotion on par with his juniors, the present writ petition came to be filed.
2.Heard the learned Counsel appearing on both sides and perused materials on record.

17.08.2018 before the respondents, which, according to him, has been kept pending without there being any orders passed. Hence, he has knocked at the doors of this Court.
4.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, on instructions, submitted that the grievance of the petitioner would be considered on merits.
5.Under such facts and circumstances of the case, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 17.08.2018, and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after affording opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6.The writ petition is disposed of, on the above terms. No costs.
