This petition has been filed for a direction to quash the case in STC No.99/2016 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate Court, No.II, Srivilliputhur.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) for the respondent No.1.

3. Though this petition has been filed seeking to quash the case in STC No.99/2016 pending on the file of the Judicial Magistrate, NO.II, Srivilliputhur, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice, if a direction is issued to the trial Court to dispose of the case as expeditiously as possible.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) would submit

that there are eight witnesses to be examined.

5. Under such circumstances, having regard to the number of witnesses, the learned Judicial Magistrate, No.II, Srivilliputhur, is directed to dispose of STC No.99/2016 as early as possible, preferably, within three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that unless the presence of the petitioner is indispensable, the Court below is at liberty to dispense with the personal appearance of the petitioner. With the above direction, this petition is disposed of. Consequently connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
