2. Betrothel of Vishnupriya and Rameshkannan was held on 15.06.2013, but for certain reasons, the marriage proposal did not go through and it was abandoned. Rameshkannan, through Advocate Mr.T.K.Gopalan, issued a legal notice dated 17.06.2014 to Vishnupriya and her parents seeking compensation of Rs.1 Crore. Insensed by that, Vishnupriya, through Advocate Mr.A.R.Jeyaruthran, issued a reply notice dated 03.07.2014 addressed to Mr.T.K.Gopalan Advocate refuting the allegations and making counter allegations against Rameshkannan and his family members. Aggrieved by that, Rameshkannan initiated a prosecution in STC No.242/2016 before the Judicial Magistrate NO.IV, Madurai, against Vishnupriya and her family members for offences under Sections 499 Cr.P.C., challenging which, Vishnupriya and her family members are before this Court.
3. Heard Mr.G.R.Swaminathan, counsel for the petitioners and Mr.Thambidurai, counsel for the respondent/complainant. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Without going into the merits of the case, it has been brought to the notice of this Court that the matter has been amicably settled, inasmuch as Vishnupriya's family have paid a sum of Rs.1,25,000/- by way of Demand Draft towards expenses incurred and an unconditional apology has also been tendered by Mr.G.R.Swaminathan, on behalf of and on instructions from Vishnupriya, Kesavaraj and Radha Kesavaraj to Rameshkannan and his family members for the allegations made in the notice dated 03.07.2014.
They have also unconditionally withdrawn the allegations in the said notice.
5. Mr.Thambidurai, counsel on record for Rameshkannan, fairly accepted the apologies on behalf of Rameshkannan and his family members and stated that he has no objection for the prosecution being quashed.
6. Accordingly, the prosecution in STC No.242/2016 before the Judicial Magistrate, NO.IV, Madurai is quashed. Consequently connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed. "All is well that ends well".
