ORDER

The above writ petition has been filed for the issue of a Mandamus to direct the respondents to rectify the wrong classification of the land comprised in S.No. 281 at Andipatti Village, Palani Taluk, Dindigul District by considering the petitioner's representation dated 22.02.2024.

The petitioner's grievance is that the Nanja land in S.No.281 measuring an extent of 4.92 acres at Andipatti Village, Palani Taluk, Dindigul District in respect of which the petitioner had obtained a decree for specific performance had been wrongly classified as Puthukulam Salai. Therefore, he made an application for rectifying this wrong classification before the second respondent as early as in the year 2008, which application has to date not been considered, despite the petitioner sending representations and filing writ petitions before this Court.

3. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

4. The respondents, who are the statutory authorities, have failed to perform their duties and for the last 16 years have not proceeded to pass orders on the request/representation of the petitioner. Therefore, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 22.02.2024 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of 6 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above directions, the Writ Petition stands allowed. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. Speaking : Yes / No 21.10.2024 NCC : Yes / No Internet : Yes / No Index : Yes / No mm To 1.The District Collector, Dindigul District, Dindigul.
