ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of writ of mandamus directing the second respondent to provide adequate police protection on 17.03.2019 at Nedunkulam Alangari Amman Deity, Madurai District on the basis of the representation dated 07.03.2019 within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl. side) appearing for the respondents.

3. Though the petitioner seeks police protection on 17.03.2019 at Nedunkulam Alangari Amman Deity, Madurai District, now the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is ready to conduct the programme on another day.

4. Hence, the petitioner is directed to give a fresh representation to the District Collector with all the materials to support his representation whereupon the District Collector shall take a call bearing in mind the petitioner is entitled to constitutional right to profess, practise and propagate his religious faith.
