By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.
2. Mr.S.Bharathi, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is a member of the festival committee of Koothatchipatti Sri Muthumariamman Temple at Pudukottai Taluk, Pudukottai District and that cultural events are scheduled to be held on 29.03.2021. His further contention is that he submitted a representation dated 20.03.2021 to the respondents seeking permission to conduct the said programme and till date, no action has been taken by the respondents.
3. Mr.A.Robinson, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) who accepts notice for the respondents, on instructions, would contend that as per G.O.(Ms) No.654 (Revenue and Disaster Management (DM-IV) Department) dated 21.11.2020, the District Collector is the competent authority to consider the request of the petitioner. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

4. In the circumstances, the District Collector, Pudukottai District is at liberty to pass appropriate orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 20.03.2021, based on merits and on findings and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order / uploading of the order.
5. With the above observation, this petition is disposed of. No costs.
