O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking for a direction to direct the respondents to accord adequate police protection to the petitioner to run his clinic without disturbance.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is serving as a Siddha Doctor, in a Siddha Hospital run by him at K.Puthupatti, Thirumayam Taluk, Pudukottai District. The petitioner, who is aged about 87 years, is peacefully running the above hospital, thereby providing various medical treatments to the people in and around the village to their satisfaction. While so, on 24.07.2018 at about 6:30 p.m., some unknown persons illegally trespassed into the petitioner's house and threatened him with dire consequences and also demanded money from the petitioner, without any manner known to law and one among those trespassers introduced himself as a lawyer from Ramanathapuram district.

3. The petitioner denied to give money as a result of which, the goondas broke the petitioner's car and damaged the door. The petitioner immediately called the fourth respondent/Inspector of Police, Puthupatti Police Station, Pudukottai District over phone. Noticing the arrival of the Sub Inspector of Police from the fourth respondent's police station to the said place of occurrence, the goondas threatened the petitioner and left the place. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

Thereafter, the petitioner made a complaint on 25.07.2018 to the Revenue Divisional Officer, Pudukottai seeking for necessary police protection from the persons, who threatened the petitioner and also to run the Siddha Hospital in a peaceful manner. On 01.08.2018, the petitioner made a complaint to the first respondent and also to other higher officials through RPAD. On 11.08.2018, the said Manikam and other unknown persons again came to the petitioner's hospital and illegally grabbed Rs.40,000/- . In this regard, the petitioner made another complaint to the first and second respondents on 04.03.2020 seeking for police protection. However, till date, no action has been taken. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present petition, seeking for a direction to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 04.03.2020.

5. The learned Government Advocate(criminal side) submitted that enquiry will be conducted in the manner known to law and the Law Enforcing Agency will pass appropriate orders upon the representation made by the petitioner dated 04.03.2020.

6. In view of the above, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 04.03.2020, in accordance with law and to pass appropriate orders in this regard. It is also made clear that the first and second respondents shall continue to enquire the matter and take appropriate action in this regard.
