This Criminal Original petition has been filed to direct the second respondent to register a case based on the petitioner's complaint dated 12.12.2017.
2.The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the marriage between the petitioner and one Palraj was solemnized on 06.02.2017. The husband of the petitioner and the family of the petitioner's husband harassed the petitioner demanding additional dowry. Hence, the petitioner lodged the present complaint before the respondent police. Since no action has been taken by the respondent police, the petitioner has filed the present petition with the aforesaid prayer.
3.Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) would submit that the petitioner's complaint was enquired by the respondent police and during enquiry the case was referred to the Social Welfare Officer, Pudukkottai to enquire whether additional dowry was demanded by the husband of the petitioner. The Social Welfare Officer, Pudukkottai, submitted a report, after enquiry, on 05.12.2017 stating that there is no dowry https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
harassment by the husband of the petitioner as alleged by the petitioner. He further submitted that the petitioner and her husband have entered into compromise at the intervention of village elders and they are now living together.
4.In view of the above submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
