Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the first respondent to give promotion to the petitioner as Deputy Superintendent of Police with all monetary benefits on par with the petitioner's immediate junior based on the petitioner's representation dated 05.03.2021.

*********** By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. 2.The learned Counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is presently working as an Inspector of Police in Theppakulam Police Station. Due to the pendency of the criminal case in C.C.No.1 of 2016, the petitioner was not granted promotion. However, the said criminal case ended in acquittal. Hence, the petitioner sent a representation to the respondents dated 05.03.2021, to grant promotion as Deputy Superintendent of Police with all monetary benefits on par with his juniors. Since, the said representation is still pending consideration, the petitioner has come up with the present writ petition.

3.Learned Counsel for the petitioner would submit that this Court may issue a direction to the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 05.03.2021. 4.In view of the above, this Court directs the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 05.03.2021, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.[MD]No.6833 of 2021 within a period of twelve [12] weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
