ORDER

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the first respondent and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the second respondent.

2. The petitioner is facing criminal prosecution in C.C.No.559 of 2018, on the file of learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Pudukottai. The petitioner had earlier filed WP(MD).No.4223 of 2018, before this Court and by order dated 24.04.2018, got a direction for renewal of his existing Passport. The first respondent herein issued a new Passport in favour of the Writ https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Petitioner on 20.08.2018. However, the validity of Passport is one year i.e up to 19.08.2019. The petitioner now states that he was not in a position get Visa and therefore, he wants further extension of the validity period.

3. Taking note of the facts obtaining in this case, this Court directs the first respondent to extend the period of validity from 19.08.2019 to 19.08.2020.
