PRAYER:Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner representation dated 17.02.2025 and directing the respondents to stop the Jallikattu Event scheduled by the 4th respondent on 09.03.2025 at 07.05 am at Kallakudi, Trichy District. ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by J.NISHA BANU, J.) Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, learned Additional Advocate General for the respondents 1 and 2 and the learned Government Advocate for the third respondent.
2.By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.
3.The contention of the petitioner is that the fourth respondent under the pretext of conducting Jallikattu event in the petitioner's village had collected donations from the political parties, business people and also from the owners of the bulls. However, he misappropriated the said amount. When the same was questioned by the public, he made life threat to them. Now, for this year also, he is propagating that he is going to conduct jalligattu and ask for donations from the public. In this regard, the petitioner has made a representation to the official 2/4
respondents on 17.02.2025. However, the same did not evoke any response. Hence, this writ petition is filed.
4.On perusing the entire affidavit and after hearing the submissions made by the petitioner, this Court is of the view that the contentions raised by the petitioner in this writ petition are general in nature and not supported by any materials. We are not inclined to entertain this writ petition. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
