Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, to direct the second respondent towithdraw the case in Crime No.164 of 2021 on the file of the third respondent and entrust the same to the first respondent to conduct investigation relating to the death of the petitioner's husband in accordance with law.

ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking to punish the respondent herein for his willful disobedience of the order passed by this Court in Crl.O.P(MD) No.5704 of 2021, dated 22.09.2021.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that by the order dated 22.09.2021, this Court directed the respondent herein to appoint a competent person to investigate the matter. But, it was not complied so far.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that in pursuance of the order passed by this Court, dated 22.09.2021, the Superintendent of Police, Madurai District, has appointed a competent person namely, the Inspector of Police, Othakadai Police Station, Madurai District.

4. Since the order passed by this Court, dated 22.09.2021, has been complied by the respondent herein, nothing survives for further consideration or direction in this petition.

5. Accordingly, this Contempt Petition is closed and the contemnor/respondent is discharged. The Inspector of Police, Othakadai Police Station, Madurai District is directed to complete the investigation and to file a final report within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
