PRAYER:Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 6 to prevent the 7th respondent from conducting the Jallikattu Event Scheduled to be held on 09.03.2025 in Kallakudi, Lalgudi Taluk, Trichy District and ensure the conduct of Jallikattu event in transparent and fair manner on the basis of the petitioner representation dated 18.02.2025.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by J.NISHA BANU, J.) Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, learned Additional Advocate General for the respondents 1, 2, 4 to 6, learned Government Advocate for the third respondent and the learned counsel for the first respondent. 2.By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

3.This writ petition is styled as public interest litigation. The contention of the petitioner is that the seventh respondent, in the year 2024, under the pretext of conducting Jallikattu event in the petitioner's village had collected donations from the political party and from the owners of the bulls. However, he misappropriated the said amount. When the same was questioned by the public, he made life threat too them. Now, for this year also, he is propagating that he is going to conduct jalligattu and ask for donations from the public. In this regard, the petitioner has made a representation to the official respondents on 18.02.2025. However, the same did not evoke any response. Hence, this writ petition is filed.

4.On perusing the entire affidavit and after hearing the submissions made by the petitioner, this Court is of the view that the contentions raised by the petitioner in this writ petition are general in nature and not supported by any materials. We are not inclined to entertain this writ petition. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
