O R D E R

The learned Counsel appearing for the Petitioner submit that the Petitioner had filed this petition seeking Writ of Mandamus, directing the second Respondent to consider the representation of the Petitioner, dated 05.03.2024, seeking permission to conduct drama on 24.03.2024 at Arulmighu Muthumariamman Temple in Thenipatti Village, Thirumayam Taluk, Pudukkottai District, which is a traditional drama as offering of the devotees of the village belonging to Thenipatti, Nallakurichi, Kokkavellaiyan Kaadu, Pappampatti, Thenipatti Nagarathar. 2.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) on instructions of the Respondents 1 and 2 submit that the Petitioner had sent a representation only through Registered Post. He had not appeared before the Respondent Police. Therefore, the same was not considered. If the Petitioner is ready to appear before the respondent Police along with the representation, the Respondents 1 and 2 are ready to consider the same favorably that too in the light of the circular issued by the Director 2/5

General of Police, Tamil Nadu/Head of State Police Force, Chennai-4, had issued a circular in Rc.No.007301/General I(I)/2019, dated 09.04.2019.

3.Recording the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), the Petitioner is directed to give a fresh representation today (14.03.2024) or tomorrow (15.03.2024) before the second Respondent. On such filing of a fresh representation, the second Respondent shall consider the same in the light of the circular issued by the the Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu/Head of State Police Force, Chennai-4, had issued a circular in Rc.No.007301/General I(I)/2019, dated 09.04.2019.

4.With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
