ORDER

The Writ Petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondents herein to grant compassionate appointment to the petitioner.

2. Heard the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel, who takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

3. The case of the petitioner is that in the earlier round of litigation, the authorities were directed to appoint the petitioner's husband in the post of Superintendent under MBC category in the respondent University. Since the same was not complied with, a contempt petition was filed by the petitioner's husband and pending the same, he died on 26.03.2018. Hence, the petitioner has given a representation dated 27.11.2018 to the respondents seeking compassionate appointment. However, the same has not been considered so far. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court by filing this writ petition.

4. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that the petitioner's representation would be considered by the respondents within a time frame as fixed by this Court.

5. Considering the nature of the prayer as sought for by the petitioner, without going into the merits of the case, the respondents are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 27.11.2018 seeking compassionate appointment, if there are no other legal impediments and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. The Writ Petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
