ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by G.ARUL MURUGAN, J.) The writ petition is filed seeking for a direction to remove the encroachments made by the eighth respondent on the Highways in S.No.229/1, Periyapattinam Village, Keelakarai Taluk, Ramanathapuram District.
2. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 7, on instructions from the Assistant Divisional Engineer, Highways Department, Ramanathapuram, dated 28.08.2025, submitted that the Assistant Divisional Engineer had already sent a communication to the Tahsildar requesting to conduct a survey by letter dated 21.04.2023. Once such survey is conducted and the encroachments are identified, appropriate proceedings will be contemplated.
3. In view of the submissions made, the sixth respondent is directed to pursue the action along with the seventh respondent Tahsildar and after conducting the survey and identifying the encroachments, if any, suitable action 3/6
will be taken as contemplated under the Acts and Rules, within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
4. In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. (S.M.S., J.) & (G.A.M., J.) 28.08.2025 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No am 4/6
