PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to provide police protection to the petitioner and his clan members to conduct Panguni Uthiram Festival on 28.03.2021 in Arulmigu Sri Ganga Parameshwari Amman Temple at Uppuvaniyapudhur, Veeravanallur, Tirunelveli District.

By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.

2. Mr.A.Robinson, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) accepts notice for the respondents and contended that petitioner's representation is under consideration.

3. Mr.I.Pinaygash, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that Panguni Uthiram Festival is scheduled to be held on 28.03.2021 at Arulmigu Sri Ganga Parameshwari Amman Temple at Uppuvaniyapudhur, Veeravanallur, Tirunelveli District. His further contention is that he submitted a representation dated 02.03.2021 to the respondents seeking police protection and till date, no action has been taken by the respondents.

4. In the circumstances, the second respondent is directed to consider and pass appropriate orders on the representation of the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

WP(MD)No.6856 of 2021 petitioner dated 02.03.2021, based on merits and on findings and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order / uploading of the order.
