ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent to provide compassionate appointment to the petitioner due to the death of his father late A.Rajendran, based on the representation dated 03.08.2018.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing for the respondent. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission.

3.The case of the petitioner is that his father, who served as a Fitter in the respondent Panchayat, passed away during the course of employment. Seeking appointment on compassionate ground, the petitioner, being the son of the deceased, made a representation dated 03.08.2018 to the respondent. Since no orders have been passed on the same, the petitioner is before this Court seeking the above stated relief.

4.The learned counsel appearing for the respondent, on instructions, submitted that the representation of the petitioner would be considered on merits.

5.In view of the above submission, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 03.08.2018, seeking appointment on compassionate ground and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner.

6.The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
