O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the Judicial Magistrate, Theni to dispose of the case in C.C.No. 306 of 2022 within the stipulated period.

2.According to the petitioner, the petitioner is the defacto complainant in this case. Based on her complaint, a case has been registered by the 3rd respondent police in Cr.No.14 of 2021 against the accused persons. Though the case has been registered in the year 2021, so far trial has not been commenced. Therefore, she seeks for speedy disposal. 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that based on the complaint of the petitioner, a case has been registered in Cr.No.14 of 2021 for the offence punishable under Sections 294(b), 420, 506(i) and 120(B) of IPC. After completion of investigation, they have filed the charge sheet before the concerned Court in the year 2022. In this case there are 14 victims and more than Rs.1 Crore involved. In the meanwhile, the petitioner has filed the discharge petition and the same is pending for consideration. However, the respondent police is ready to 2/5

produce the witnesses as directed by the trial Court and co-operate to complete the trial proceedings.

4.Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner, this Court without going into the merits of the case and also considering the long pendency of the case, this Court hereby direct the learned Judicial Magistrate, Theni to complete the trial proceedings in C.C.No.306 of 2022 as early as possible without giving long adjournments, beyond 15 days.

5.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
