ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to pay interest amount at the rate of 18% for delayed payment of the petitioner's terminal benefits, on the basis of his representation, dated 13.11.2018. 2.Heard Mr.S.Deenadhayalan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.P.Balasubramanian, learned counsel appearing for the respondents.

3.The grievance of the petitioner is that though the terminal benefits have been settled by the respondent Corporation, as per the order of this Court, dated 16.03.2016 in W.P(MD)No.5261 of 2016, interest amount for the delayed payment has not been settled to the petitioner. Hence, the petitioner sent a representation to the respondents on 13.11.2018 seeking to pay interest for the delayed payment of his terminal benefits. been considered so far, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition.

4.The learned counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that the representation of the petitioner would be considered by the respondents on merits.

5.In view of the above, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 13.11.2018, seeking interest for the belated payment of terminal benefits of the petitioner, and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
