Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 3 to clean and restore the Paikudi Kanmai situated in S.No.73/1, situated at Paikkudipatti Village, Kathappattu Revenue Village, Sivagangai Taluk and District more particularly on the Eastern Side of S.No.73/1 i.e., North to S.No.71/8 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 11.02.2025 within the time fixed by this Court. ORDER

Heard both sides.

2.The only prayer made in this writ petition is that the water body comprised in S.No.73/1, Paikkudipatti village should not be polluted by the local residents by letting in drainage water into the same. 3.No exception can be taken to the said prayer. The learned Special Government Pleader on instructions from the jurisdictional Block Development Officer confirms that a number of local residents are in fact 2/4

polluting the said water body on a daily basis. We direct the respondents 1 and 2 to take immediate steps to abate the said nuisance that is being committed on the water body.
