PETITION FOR ANTICIPATORY BAIL Under Sec.438 of Cr.P.C PRAYER :- for Anticipatory bail in Crime No.27 of 2020 on the file of the respondent police.
ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner apprehending arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Section 7(3) of Lotteries Regulations Act, 1998 in Crime No.27 of 2020, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail. 2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocat (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent.

CRL OP(MD) No.5004 of 2020 3.The learned Government Advocate (crl.side) appearing for the State submitted that when the police on routine checkup, the petitioner has thrown the papers and ran away from the place. Thereafter the respondent police recovered the same, in which they found that some numbers and amount has been mentioned. Subsequently, the respondent police found that the paper was downloaded in online lottery ticket, which was banned by the Government of Tamil Nadu. He would further submit that the petitioner is having two more previous cases resulted in registering a case under 110 Cr.P.C and the same is pending.
4.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is innocent and he is no way connected with the said offence.
5.Taking into consideration of the averments made in the complaint and also the nature and gravity of the offence, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail. Accordingly, this Criminal Original petition is dismissed.
