PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents 1 to 4 herein to stop the First Respect event conducting by the respondents 5 to 9 herein illegally during the temple festival of Arulmighu Muthumariamman Kovil, Vaithukovil, Vaithur Panchayat, Kulathur Taluk, Pudukottai District scheduled to be held from 24.03.2024 to 09.04.2024 based on the petitioner's representation dated 22.02.2024.

ORDER
The petitioner, with a grievance that the respondents 1 to 4 are providing first honour to the respondents 5 to 9, has filed this writ petition for a Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 4 to stop the practice of giving first honour to the respondents 5 to 9 during the temple festival of Arulmighu Muthumariamman Kovil, Vaithukovil, Vaithur Panchayat, Kulathur Taluk, Pudukottai District.
2. Mr.P.Subba Raj, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents 1, 2 and 4 and by relying on the policy note of the HR&CE Department, submits that nobody is entitled for any honour in the temple and this is the policy of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
3. Mr.M.Ramu, learned counsel, takes notice for the respondents 5, 7 to 9 and submits that they are not expecting any 3/6
first honour from the Temple and the allegations made by the petitioner are false.
4. Recording the submission made by the learned counsel appearing for the respondents 5, 7 to 9, this writ petition is closed as no further order is required. In the event of doing ulavara pani in the temple or any contribution to the temple, they need to be recognized with some honour. No costs.
