Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to provide service connection to the petitioner's agricultural bore well which is already existing in Service Connection Number 101 of Rajakambeeram Distribution, Manamadurai Taluk, Sivagangai District in S.No.127/6C of Rajakambeeram Revenue Birka, Manamadurai Taluk, Sivagangai District as promised by the second respondent dated 01.12.2018 within the time limit prescribed by this Court.

ORDER

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2.An agricultural electricity service connection was standing in the name of the writ petitioner's father. He is no more. However, the bore well for which the electricity connection given was acquired under the National Highways Act, 1956. Therefore, the writ petitioner has given a representation for shifting of such service connection. The application is still pending before the first respondent.

3.The writ petitioner is not asking for a new connection. He is only asking shifting of an existing service connection that became necessary on account of acquisition proceedings. Hence, the first respondent is directed to pass positive orders on the writ petitioner's request and effect shifting of electricity connection also within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4.This writ petition is allowed. No costs.
