PRAYER : Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of Criminal Procedure Code, to direct respondents No.1 to 4 to provide police protection for the petitioner and the Petitioner's family members life and liberty by considering the petitioner's representation dated 18/3/2022 in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Court.

ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed, invoking Section 482 Cr.P.C., seeking direction to direct respondents No.1 to 4 to provide police protection for the petitioner and the Petitioner's family members life and liberty by considering the petitioner's representation dated 18/3/2022 in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Court.
2. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned 2/6
Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents 1 to 4 would submit that on the basis of the complaint given by this petitioner, a case in Crime No.36 of 2022 was registered against seven persons, who are the respondents 5 to 10 herein. He would further submit that after completion of the process of investigation, Final Report has been filed before the concerned Special Court, which was taken cognizance also.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the after the death of the petitioner's father, petitioner was compelled to do Paraiyadithal in his village festival by the villagers. The petitioner is a degree holder and he is not willing to do the same. When he was refused to do the same, he was criminally intimidated by the village people.
4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) would submit that there was some compulsion by the villagers to the petitioner to do the above said Paraiyadithal in the temple festivel, for which, the petitioner is not willing. Whatever it may be, the petitioner cannot be 3/6
compelled by any one. The complaint has been given by the petitioner and the same was investigated and registered the case in crime No.36 of 2022 and the matter is now infructuous.
5. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that even though the matter has been infructuous, still the threat is continues.

Considering the above, let the respondent No.4 issue summons to the respondents 5 to 10 and ascertain the ground situation to find out whether there was any threat made to the life of the petitioner. Depending upon the enquiry, further orders may be passed by the fourth respondent, within fifteen days from the date of appearance of the parties.
7. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
