The petitioner seeks limited relief of issuance of Writ of Mandamus to direct the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's application for rectification of the error in the revenue records. 2.The grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner temple is the owner of the subject lands and they have also constructed a shopping complex and leased out shops in the said shopping complex. However, in the revenue records a mistake has crept in and the lands belonging to the petitioner temple have been classified as vacant natham after removing the name of the temple, which had been originally mutated in the revenue records. The petitioner therefore, made an application to the first respondent seeking rectification of the revenue records. The urgency expressed by the temple is that the temple is unable to confirm the auction conducted for leasing out shops to successful bidders in view of the error in the revenue records.

3.Considering that the petitioner's request has been made as early as in March 2024, and even as early as in June 2024, the first respondent has called for a report from the second respondent, the first respondent shall decide the fate of the petitioner's application seeking rectification of the errors in the revenue records within a period of eight [8] weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order on merits and in accordance with law. 4.Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
