2. The petitioner is a senior citizen. He seeks relief under the provisions of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act. He has not however given any petition before the jurisdictional Revenue Divisional Officer. Sending petition to the Chief Minister's Special Cell is not appropriate.

3. The petitioner is permitted to approach the Revenue Divisional Officer, Palani. As and when such a petition is received, the Revenue Divisional Officer, Palani is directed to take immediate action thereon. The jurisdictional police are also mandated to look into the petitioner's grievance in the meanwhile and take remedial action. These are not matters that can brook delay. The authorities, namely, the Superindendant of Police, Palani, the Revenue Divisional Officer, Palani as well as the jurisdictional Inspector of Police are directed to take note of the statutory scheme set out in the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act and do the needful. This writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
