This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representations dated 04.11.2006 and 18.02.2026 and consequently to rectify the classification of the subject property comprised in Survey No. 37/14A, situated at Poolangudi Village, Thiruverumbur Taluk, Trichy District and to issue patta in the name of the petitioner within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that the subject property belongs to her. However, the classification of the said property has subsequently been altered and shown as 'punjai tharisu' in the revenue records without any notice to the petitioner and without any legal basis. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 04.11.2006 to Page No. 2 of 5

the respondents seeking rectification of the mistake in the revenue records. Upon receipt of the same, the first respondent, vide proceedings dated 13.12.2006, directed the third respondent to take appropriate action. However, no action has been taken thereafter. Subsequently, the petitioner once again submitted a representation dated 18.02.2026 to the first and second respondents seeking issuance of patta in her name. However, no action has been taken. Hence, the petitioner has been constrained to file the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner's representations dated 04.11.2006 and 18.02.2026 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed by the second respondent within a period of sixteen weeks.

5. Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representations dated 04.11.2006 and 18.02.2026 and pass appropriate orders on its merits and in accordance with law within a period of sixteen Page No. 3 of 5

(16) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The representations shall be disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The second respondent is also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested parties who may be affected by such decision, before passing any order. There shall be no order as to costs.
