ORDER

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner.

2. The case of the writ petitioner is that a false news appeared in the newspapers concerning her daughter. Though her daughter is very much alive, it was published in the Media as if she committed suicide. The petitioner, therefore, wants payment of compensation.

3. I am of the view that the State cannot be fastened with any liability. The petitioner is obviously aggrieved over the publication of false news. Therefore, the only remedy open to the petitioner is to sue the newspapers concerned. Filing of this writ petition is misconceived.

4. The Writ Petition stands dismissed. No costs. It is always open to the petitioner to file an appropriate civil suit in this regard.
