This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents to pay death-cum-terminal benefits of 1st petitioner's husband late R.Ponmaran, including salary payable in the post of Manager and Secretary, arrear, revision of pay, from 01.01.2013 to 26.3.2018 with interest, to the petitioners.
2.Heard the learned Counsel for the petitioners and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent Nos.1 to 4 and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent Nos. 5 and 6. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 3.According to the petitioners, they have sent several representations to the official respondents, requesting to disburse the salary of the husband of the 1st petitioner, including arrears and death-cum-terminal benefits, as he died on 26.03.2018. None of those representations have been considered so far. Therefore, they are before this Court.
4. The learned Counsel for the petitioners submitted that it would suffice if the representation of the petitioners is directed to be considered by the respondents, for which, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent Nos.1 to 4 and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent Nos. 5 and 6 have no serious objection .
5.Under such circumstances, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondents 1 to 6, to consider the petitioners' representation dated 15.12.2018, on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, after affording opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as the interested parties, if any, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6.The writ petition is disposed of, on the above terms. No costs.
