PRAYER :- Writ Petition, filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this court to issue a Writ of MANDAMUS directing to the 1st respondent to number the unnumbered Original Application in OA of 2025 dated 12.05.2025 for appoint the Hereditary Trustee of the Arulmigu Kandiamman Temple situated at Silamarathupatti Village, Bodinayakanur Taluk, Theni District.

This Writ Petition is filed seeking a direction to the 1st respondent to number the unnumbered Original Application in OA of 2025 dated 12.05.2025 seeking appointment of the Hereditary Trustee of the Arulmigu Kandiamman Temple situated at Silamarathupatti Village, Bodinayakanur Taluk, Theni District.

2. By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. Since no adverse order is going to be passed against the respondents 2 to 9, notice to them is dispensed with.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has filed an original application before the Joint Commissioner, Dindigul seeking appointment of the Hereditary Trustee of the Arulmigu Kandiamman Temple situated at Silamarathupatti Village, Bodinayakanur Taluk, Theni District. Since the said original application was not numbered till date, the petitioner has approached this Court.

4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent would submit that the first respondent will number the original application filed by the petitioner and dispose of the same in accordance with law.

5. In view of the above, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the first respondent to number the original application filed by the petitioner seeking appointment of the Hereditary Trustee of the Arulmigu Kandiamman Temple situated at Silamarathupatti Village, Bodinayakanur Taluk, Theni District and dispose of the same on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3/6

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
