PRAYER : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to change the tariff from 53 Kwh to 20 Kwh in respect of the service connection in SC.No.06-262-002-334 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 05.01.2023.

The father of the petitioner, R.Kannupillai was having the benefit of 53 Kwh service connection in SC.No.06-262-002-334. After the death of the father, the petitioner herein had reduced the usage of electricity and is running only a cottage unit and it is claimed that 20 Kwh alone is sufficient. This would require change in the tariff. A representation had been given by the petitioner on 05.01.2023. 2/5

However, it is represented by the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents that the petitioner should apply through online and it is also apprehended that there could be disputes among the brothers. But that is an independent issue and the change in tariff alone is now sought and that would depend on the personal inspection made over the usage of electricity by the petitioner herein. An online application has to be made. If it is so made, then within a period of four weeks from that particular date, orders should be passed by the second respondent.

3. With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
