PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C., to direct the respondents 1 and 2 herein to provide adequate police protection to the life and limb of the petitioner and his wife Anitha on the basis of his representation dated 18.02.2017.

ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking police protection to his life and limb.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the first respondent.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner married one Anitha, who belongs to a different community. Since the parents of the petitioner's wife threatened the petitioner with dire consequences, he made a representation on 18.02.2017 to the respondents seeking police protection. But the same was not considered. Hence, the present petition has been filed.

4. Today, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) on instructions would submit that the complaint given by the petitioner has already been investigated and closed as "mistake of fact". That apart, marriage was taken place in the year 2017 and for the past two years no untoward incident had happened.

5. In the above circumstances, the relief sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted at this stage. Hence, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
